Event: The Bacchanalian 2013
When: Friday, June 14, 2013. 7:00 p.m.—10:00 p.m.
Location: Abacus Ballroom; 503 W. Pinhook, Lafayette, LA.
What: Wine tasting for connoisseurs as well as “boxed wine lovers.” (Must be 21 to attend.) This event will not focus on one specific type of wine, so all wines are welcome from reds, to whites, to sparkling wines.
Why: To benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana in providing caring adult mentors to the children of Acadiana.
How: To participate in The Bacchanalian, you can become a host and form TWO 3-person teams (5 individuals including yourself.) Each host raises a minimum donation of $225/team ($75 per person). Each team brings 3 matching bottles of wine to Abacus. Two bottles will be bagged, assigned a number at random and set out for tasting.
Prizes: The teams that bring the top favorite wines will take home everyone’s third unopened bottle of wine. The team that brings the least favorite bottle of wine will take home their own unopened bottle of wine.
